Henkel - USSF sponsorship

Henkel is a proud sponsor of the U.S. Soccer Federation, a partnership that is based in shared ideals. Like Henkel, U.S. Soccer is a pioneer in expanding accessibility and focusing on long-term growth driven by performance, passion, respect and diversity. U.S. Soccer believes soccer is more than a sport, it is a force for good.

Empowerment at the shebelieves cup and summit

As a part of this partnership, Henkel is also proud to be a sponsor of the shebelieves cup, a tournament designed to empower the next generation of women to define success for themselves and achieve their goals, on and off the playing field. While the U.S. Women's National Team didn’t take home the trophy at this year’s shebelieves cup, the resilience, determination, and love of the game demonstrated is inspirational and indicative of the larger impact that the tournament and program has on diverse communities across the country.

Paving the Way For Future Female Athletes

March is Women’s History Month, providing us with an incredible opportunity to recognize the women who have been trailblazers for creating safe and supportive spaces for female athletes. The U.S. Women’s National Team was founded in 1985 and has proven to be a force of talent and determination over the past 40 years. They are the most successful international women’s soccer team, winning the most successful international women’s soccer team, winning four FIFA Women’s World Cup titles and five Olympic gold medals since their founding.

The Benefits of Organized Youth Sports

Incredible players such as Mia Hamm, Briana Scurry, Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, and many others have pioneered the way for a new generation of female athletes that are participating at rates higher than ever before. The number of women and girls playing organized soccer globally has increased by nearly a quarter compared to 2019, with an estimated 16.6 million participants across different organizations. While the physical benefits of regular activity are clear, there is also evidence that participation in sports during developmentally formative years can have a strong positive effect on other aspects of growth.

Some of the benefits of youth sports include better overall academic performance, lower stress levels, greater self-confidence and higher self-esteem, improved cognitive performance, and more creativity. We believe it is important to equip the next generation with the tools they need to excel, and participation in youth sports such as soccer can be a big step in achieving this goal. The work being done to increase access for all young athletes in the world of sports is essential to ensuring a long and successful future of the sport and a next generation that is equipped to succeed.

Women’s History Month – Moving Forward Together!

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we look forward to the incredible programming planned for the shebelieves summit, a conference designed to bring a powerful message of empowerment and believing in yourself to women and girls everywhere. Through programs like shebelieves as well as internal groups like employee resource groups we aim to collectively empower our communities by helping people reach their full potential – whether it be on the soccer pitch, at school, or in the workplace.

At Henkel, we have a legacy of care to reimagine and make life better for others. We recognize that we cannot accomplish this alone, and partner with organizations like U.S. Soccer to serve the needs of communities across the country.
