The Salt Lake City, UT Henkel manufacturing facility is looking for top talent to lead our facility to Best in Class Performance levels and culture. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that department equipment is in good repair and working order and to direct and assist mechanics in their daily duties and functions. This person is also responsible in helping to oversee the preventative maintenance program and to assist the Maintenance Supervisor with related issues.

What you´ll do

  • Oversee and assist in the Mold changes and machinery set-ups, including all associated equipment.
  • Schedule and ensure all preventive maintenance of molding equipment.
  • Schedule and monitor machinery repair and re-builds.
  • Build or modify equipment, as needed, while ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Make responsible downtime decisions with the department's best interest in mind.
  • Work with the department supervisor and the Process/Changeover Lead person on all machinery schedules.
  • Ensure all record keeping of molding equipment is to date and accurate at all times.
  • Ensure that all mechanics are following set-up procedures.
  • Work with machine builders and parts room on all repair parts and order parts when needed.
  • Locate problem areas and make good sound decisions on how to correct these problems.
  • Ensure that all maintenance areas are organized and clean.
  • Assist in the training of new mechanics.
  • Perform other related duties, as determined by management.

What makes you a good fit

Education & Professional Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • An associate's degree in Electronics, or an Electromechanical Technician or Industrial Mechanic certificate is preferred.
  • Must have 2-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, high-speed preferred.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Must have knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in maintaining large industrial systems.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Lean principles such as 5S, TPM, and Root-Cause Analysis is highly desired.
  • One year of prior supervisory/lead experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to train and lead new mechanics.
  • Must have the ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
  • Must have an awareness of GMPs to ensure hygienic security of bottles and components.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations is a plus.
  • Must have intermediate to proficient-level computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to pivot and adapt to changing priorities in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Must have good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills.
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills.
  • Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences, including active listening, clear presentation skills, and the capacity to provide and receive feedback at all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to frequently climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to climb on and around equipment, which includes bending, stooping, standing, crawling, walking, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to see and hear to visually and audibly troubleshoot equipment, acknowledge alarms, and perform inspections.
  • Must be able to sustain repetitive movement of the upper and lower extremities.
  • Must be able to grip, grasp, push, and pull with varying degrees of force.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up-to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing protection, ANSI safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, and all other required PPE.

There is $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS for this role. The hourly range for this role is $33.47 - $46.49. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
